I have been visiting Holy Island in the UK, with its famous Lindisfarne Castle. This Island has a population of only 160 people, but those I met were very friendly and so helpful. This place is amazing I enjoyed it a lot. I have been there for 2 days and booked into the Manor House Hotel, one of 3 Hotels on that Island.I guess this Hotel does have the best view on the Island.
There is loads to do in 2 days, you can walk all over the Island, there is a Buddhism Centre too for those who are keen to see that.
You have to see the Lindisfarne Castle of course, which were build because of the Vikings, but does still spread a majestic feeling.
All over the Island are sheep and my feeling is they are the most happiest sheep I have ever seen, they even sound happy. And not to forget the stunning sunsets which you can witness all over the UK, but this little Island just took me away with its colors and moods. And another amazing thing I never witnessed before, I stood at approx. 11.30pm at the Beach and it looked like in the middle of the Blue Hour no night at all, just another amazing thing to experience.
Before you go there, be prepared you can only cross the Causeway when the Tide is low and than you are trapped on the Island. So check the tide times before you go. It is a easy drive close to the Scotish border not far from Newcastle, with loads of Nature around you.
You can see some of the Pictures on my Website, to give you an impression how magic this place really is.
I would also love to hear your comments about that place.
Hope you will enjoy and many thanks for your time.
